Subject:  Susquehanna River and Smallmouth Bass Tactics

In 2011, Nick Raftas began guiding part time with a local PA guide outfit. In 2015 Nick began guiding on a full-time basis. In 2018 Nick started Wild East Outfitters, an Orvis Endorsed Guide Service and established itself quickly as one of the leading full-time guide outfits in Pennsylvania.

Nick splits his time seasonally between the Lehigh River, Susquehanna and Juniata Rivers where he guides mainly for trout and smallmouth bass. Nick has also spent a great deal of time fishing and guiding on the following streams: Tulpehocken Creek, Bushkill and Big Bushkill Creeks, The Brodhead, Valley Creek, East Branch of the Brandywine, Wyomissing Creek, Pickering Creeks, Hickory Run, Mud Run, West Branch of the Perkiomen, the Pohopoco, Penn's Creek, Spring Creek, Bald Eagle Creek, Letort, Big Spring and many more.
Nick has authored an article in Fly Fisherman Magazine and has contributed to Field and Stream Magazine. Nick has also been a featured fishing guide in multiple Field and Stream video series “Hook Shots” video series and has provided numerous presentations for Trout Unlimited Clubs and various fishing clubs in the Tri-State area.
Over the years Nick has worked hard to learn as much about his fisheries as possible and is providing clients with some of the best fishing opportunities available in Pennsylvania. Nick also regularly hosts trips to Montana, Michigan, and the Upper Delaware River. In the coming year Nick has plans to expand the hosted trip offerings to the White River and Little Red River in Arkansas and to some unique locations in South America.
