CAPTAIN MIKE PLATT

I have decades of experience fishing for Striped Bass and the local gamefish here in Western Long Island Sound. My primary goal with clients is to put them on fish in unique situations that will leave a longstanding positive memory of fishing my local waters.

I grew up with a love a fishing, spending every waking minute fishing freshwater ponds, streams and the famed spring Striper runs of the Hudson River ( and still do ) in Westchester County, NY. Once I became old enough to drive, I found myself fishing the beaches and shorelines of Fairfield County, CT, where I caught my first Striper on the fly at age 16. Since that day I have spent the last 25 years of my life in relentless pursuit of striped bass, bluefish, bonito, albies (false albacore) and blackfish on light tackle in the Western Long Island Sound.

I can no longer call what I do fishing but rather a lifestyle. I live, eat, sleep and breathe this lifestyle. I am one of the area's only full time guides with availability 7 days a week. Because lets face it, fishing is always best Monday through Friday not just the weekends. Being I am on the water most everyday I have an intimate knowledge of the current fishing conditions and techniques which translates into you getting into some nice fish.

One thing I pride myself on is honesty and I won't take you on a boat ride. If the bite is "off" I will be the first to tell you. We can reschedule or if that is the only time you have I will do everything possible to get you into fish.
